Western Isles annexed

As a result of the Treaty of Perth in 1266, the Western Isles (or the Hebrides) were effectively annexed by Scotland. Prior to the treaty, the Hebrides had been the subject of contention between Norway and Scotland. The treaty confirmed Scottish sovereignty over these islands in exchange for a monetary payment to Norway. Thus, the Hebrides transitioned from Norwegian to Scottish control, further consolidating Scotland's territorial domain.
