Lulach

Lulach, known as Lulach mac Gille Coemgáin, reigned briefly as King of Scotland from 1057 to 1058. Often dubbed "Lulach the Simple" or "Lulach the Unfortunate," he inherited the throne following the death of his stepfather, Macbeth. However, his tenure as king was short-lived due to challenges from Malcolm, the son of Duncan I. Within months of his ascendancy, Lulach was defeated and killed by Malcolm, marking the end of his brief reign. Though his time as king was ephemeral, Lulach's place in history remains as a transitional figure between the rule of Macbeth and the long reign of Malcolm III.
