Cuilén

Cuilén, known as Cuilén mac Ildulb, ruled as King of Scotland from approximately 967 to 971 CE, succeeding Dub. His reign, while brief, was mired in internal power struggles and challenges from rival claimants. Cuilén's kingship is often overshadowed by controversies, including accusations of involvement in the death of a rival king's son. His rule ended abruptly when he was reportedly killed in a skirmish against the Britons of Strathclyde. Despite the turbulence of his reign, Cuilén's time on the throne was indicative of the political complexities and challenges faced by the early rulers of the Kingdom of Alba.
