Áed

Áed, known as Áed mac Cináeda, was the king of Scotland from 877 to 878 CE, succeeding his brother Constantine I. His reign was notably brief, and details about his rule are scant, primarily sourced from later medieval chronicles. While the circumstances of his kingship remain somewhat enigmatic, Áed's time on the throne was marked by the continued challenges of Viking incursions into Scotland.
