Storegga Tsunami
The Storegga Slide area, off the coast of Norway, experienced three major submarine landslides. The most recent occurred around 6,200 BCE, with earlier slides taking place approximately in 8,700 BCE and 9,300 BCE. These massive underwater landslides significantly impacted the surrounding marine environment, with the slide around 6,200 BCE notably causing a major tsunami that affected the coastlines of the North Sea.
