Edward III's campaigns
Edward Balliol, with the backing of Edward III of England, tried to claim the Scottish crown and succeeded briefly. After the Battle of Dupplin Moor in 1332, Balliol was crowned King of Scots. However, he was quickly opposed by supporters of David II and was unseated multiple times, only to be reinstated with English support.
