It took place in Worcester, England, and saw Oliver Cromwell's Parliamentarian New Model Army face off against the Royalist forces, predominantly comprised of Scottish soldiers, who supported Charles II’s claim to the throne. The battle resulted in a decisive victory for Cromwell’s forces, and Charles II barely managed to escape, evading capture for six weeks before fleeing to France.
